The prophecy on the back of Jordan Szoke’s BK Designs HJC helmet came true this weekend as Jordan made Canadian Superbike history by winning his eighth Mopar Canadian Superbike Title. The design, inspired by Jordan’s Japanese-esque theme was the symbol for the number eight with a question mark running through the middle.

There was no question during Round #5 on Saturday as Jordan finished an incredibly close second place during an exciting 20-lap battle around the 3.9 km circuit known now as Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Szoke finished a scant 0.118 seconds behind the victor on his BMW S1000RR earning him 252 championship points to secure the title with one full round remaining on Sunday. “How awesome is it to bring the Canada Cup home with me again.” says Szoke. “I have it put back up on the mantle here at home where it has sat for seven years. It felt very strange not having it there last year; I really wanted it extra bad this season.”

Sunday’s Round #6 race had Szoke in the driver’s seat, with his eighth championship firmly secured he was able to race for “the win” instead of for championship points. A fierce battle ensued with three superbike riders battling it out all the way to the final turn. Szoke swapped the lead and ran wide through the last turn to finish another extremely close second place. “What an amazing weekend.” says Szoke “We have had so much success here this weekend I can’t be anything but happy. Although leaving without a win is also a little disappointing. I cannot remember the last time I haven't won at CTMP.”

Szoke not only wrapped up his Superbike title, his Waznie Racing/Parts Canada/BMW Motorrad also won the Inside Motorcycles prestigious ”Team of the Year Award”. “This sport is coveted as an individual sport,” says Szoke “but you cannot win something like this on your own. You have an entire crew behind you that provides you with a safe motorcycle that you can win on and an atmosphere to feel comfortable in. Thank you to my entire team: John Cornwell, Derek Uttley, Matt Van Tilborg, Jean Bancroft, Dan Fargo, my mom Sandy, my dad Bob, and my wife Amy. We also can’t forget our sponsors that made this team a reality."

Szoke Leads the Canadian Superbike Championship

Jordan Szoke snatched the victory at Atlantic Motorsports Park in a dramatic last lap pass to extend his points lead to 35 in the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship. Szoke completed the race in 16 minutes 5.075 seconds to take the checkered by a thin 0.230 at the line. Taking his sixth superbike career victory at the 2.56 km road course, affectionately known as “the roller coaster”, Szoke is well on his way to an unprecedented eighth Canadian Superbike title.

"I didn't get the best of starts, but you really have to be patient around here or it will bite you," Szoke said, referring to the race delay that caused the race to shorten to 14 laps.

Szoke found himself third off the line on the restart after claiming his third straight pole position of the season. The Superbike race was red flagged just after two laps and required the riders to take back to the grid.

“That was a dogfight out there," said Szoke. "I had to pick off riders where I could. This track isn't the easiest one to race at and you need to be careful.”

“So far we are having such an amazing season, I really have to thank my crew,” he added. “We all work so well together and it shows in our results.”

Jordan takes his 151 points to Round 4, which will be hosted August 10-12 at the beautiful Circut Mont-Tremblant.

Szoke Signs On With BMW

Jordan Szoke, 7 time Canadian Superbike champion, signs on to ride a BMW S1000 in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship for the 2012 season. “I am really excited to represent BMW.” says Szoke when asked about his new livery “Its feels good to represent a manufacturer that steps up to the plate and supports road racing like BMW has this year. Their efforts remind me of the Kawasaki of the 90’s. Its awesome to see and great to be a part of.”

The radX/BMW Motorrad team scooped up the Superbike Championship with rider Brett McCormick last season with a 328 (McCormick) - 318 (Szoke) points lead. “I look forward to coming back for my #1 plate this year.” smiles Szoke “I hope I am able to keep it for BMW and represent them well.”

Szoke will once again manage and race for his own team this season the: "Waznie Racing Parts Canada BMW Motorrad". A feat he was able to do in 2010 with a perfect Superbike season. He also was awarded the Inside Motorcycles “Team of the Year” award for his accomplishments.

The Canadian Superbike Championship will commence June 22nd-24th at Shannonville Motorsports Park.

“I would really like to send out a personal thank you to our existing sponsors that stuck with us again this season.” mentions Szoke. “Without them this wouldn’t be possible.”

Any inquires are more than welcome to join Szoke’s mission to recover his Canadian Superbike Championship #1 plate.
